SoftBank Announces ¥210.8 Billion Interim Dividend, Plans Future Increases

SoftBank Corp. announced a ¥210.798 billion interim dividend, equating to ¥4.40 per ordinary share, payable to shareholders of record as of September 30, 2026. The dividend will be distributed on December 4, 2026, and is sourced from retained earnings.

The decision was made at a board meeting held on October 29, 2026, and aligns with the company’s previously announced dividend expectations for the fiscal year. Dividends for the company’s two types of bond-linked shares were set at ¥50.00 per share for the first bond type and ¥128.00 per share for the second, totaling ¥1.5 billion and ¥3.2 billion respectively.

SoftBank stated its commitment to returning profits to shareholders while simultaneously investing in its network infrastructure, including 5G SA expansion, and new ventures in artificial intelligence. The company intends to continue a bi-annual dividend payment schedule, factoring in performance, financial position, and cash flow. Notably, SoftBank plans to progressively increase ordinary share dividends from fiscal year 2027 through fiscal year 2031, directly correlated with profit growth.

The company expects a further ¥4.40 per share payout with its year-end dividend, bringing the total expected annual dividend to ¥8.80 per share. Dividends for the bond-linked shares are expected to remain consistent with the interim payout. The move underscores SoftBank’s confidence in its financial performance and future prospects, and its commitment to balancing investment and shareholder returns.

The company’s total dividend payout for the interim period represents a 2.6% increase over the ¥205.27 billion distributed during the same period in the prior fiscal year.
