Ping An Bank Q3 Profit Rises 2.2% Amidst Revenue Growth

Ping An Bank’s net profit increased by 2.2% year-on-year to RMB39,186 million for the first nine months of 2026, according to a recent filing. This growth was supported by a 2.4% rise in overall revenue, reaching RMB103,100 million over the same period.

The bank reported net interest income increased by 0.3% year-on-year, with the net interest margin standing at 1.80%, a slight increase of 1 basis point compared to the prior year. A more substantial contribution to revenue growth came from net non-interest income, which rose by 6.5% year-on-year, accounting for 35.25% of total revenue – a 1.36 percentage point increase from the same period last year. This increase was largely attributed to growth in wealth management and bond investment businesses.

Ping An Bank continued to expand its asset base, with total assets reaching RMB5,952,354 million as of September 30, 2026, a modest 0.4% increase from the end of the previous year. Loans and advances to customers totaled RMB3,431,480 million, up 1.2% compared to year-end 2025. Corporate loans increased by 2.7% over the same period, while personal loan balances remained relatively flat. The bank is actively supporting the real economy through initiatives like “Orange-e-Loan” and “Orange Loan to SMEs,” which totaled RMB58,690 million, an increase of RMB28,647 million.

The bank also focused on cost efficiency, achieving a cost/income ratio of 27.01%, down 0.46 percentage points year-on-year through digital transformation efforts. This improvement in efficiency partially offset pressures from a challenging macroeconomic environment and ongoing regulatory scrutiny within the Chinese financial sector.

These results reflect a modest but positive trajectory for Ping An Bank, with revenue and profit growth supported by strategic asset allocation and cost management. The bank’s ability to navigate a complex regulatory landscape and maintain stable performance amidst broader economic uncertainty will be key to sustaining this momentum.
