Japanese software firm Obic reported a 19.0% year-over-year increase in its interim net profit, reaching ¥44.383 billion for the first half of its fiscal year ending March 2027. This positive performance has prompted the company to revise its full-year earnings forecast and increase its final dividend.

Revenue for the interim period grew by 14.0% to ¥75.023 billion, while operating profit rose by 16.9% to ¥51.038 billion. These gains reflect sustained demand for Obic’s core integrated business software, “OBIC7 Series,” particularly among larger enterprises. The company highlighted the robust performance of its system integration and system support businesses, with sales increasing by 12.1% and 16.2% respectively.

Obic attributes its success to a continued focus on direct sales and a commitment to customer satisfaction through its integrated sales and development model. The company is also investing in cloud services and technologies like AI to drive future growth and ensure business continuity. These investments are reflected in increases to investment in investment value securities.

Driven by the positive interim results, Obic has revised its full-year earnings forecast upwards. In addition, the company has increased its final dividend per share by ¥6 to ¥53, demonstrating a commitment to returning value to shareholders. This increase reflects both the improved financial outlook and a desire to reward investor support.

Obic’s first-half performance demonstrates strong momentum, with double-digit growth in both revenue and profitability. The company’s focus on integrated software solutions and strategic investments in cloud and AI appear to be paying off, positioning it for continued success in a competitive market. The increased dividend signals confidence in the company's future earnings potential.
