Kuaishou Technology Secures Nearly $3 Billion in New Investment

Kuaishou Technology has secured approximately RMB19.80 billion (equivalent to roughly USD2.90 billion) in fresh capital through a complex series of subscription agreements and assignments, as detailed in a filing to the Hong Kong Exchange. The funding round, completed on October 30, 2026, introduces several new investors while also adjusting the holdings of existing stakeholders.

The injection of capital stems from a combination of newly subscribed shares and the transfer of rights from existing investors, with entities like Kingdee Software (China), Gongqingcheng Junke, and MetaX Shanghai joining the shareholder base. Simultaneously, some investors, including Dakang Lanwu and BFI MIDCO, were unable to complete their initial commitments and were terminated from the agreement. The total subscription price paid by all investors reached RMB19,801.84 million ($2.905 billion).

The filing outlines a shift in the ownership structure, though Lucky Labs remains the controlling shareholder. Post-completion, Lucky Labs holds 66.68% of equity interests, representing 52.45% of voting rights, assuming full utilization of subsidiary share participation schemes. A significant number of new investors now hold stakes in Beijing Kling, Kuaishou’s key operating entity. Notably, tech firms like Kingdee Software and MetaX, along with investment funds focused on AI and digital technologies, are among the new shareholders.

This capital infusion arrives as Kuaishou navigates a competitive short-video landscape and increasing regulatory scrutiny, as evidenced by recent trends in demand for legal expertise. The diverse range of new investors – spanning enterprise software, AI, and venture capital – suggests a strategic move to broaden Kuaishou’s network and potentially leverage synergies with related technologies. The funding will likely support ongoing investment in core platform development, content creation, and expansion into new markets.

The completed subscriptions leave Kuaishou with a fully funded capital increase, positioning the company to pursue its strategic initiatives. The influx of capital from both established technology players and specialized investment funds underscores confidence in Kuaishou’s long-term growth potential and ability to capitalize on opportunities within the evolving digital media ecosystem.
