Keppel Selected as Inaugural Member of Vietnam Financial Centre

Keppel Ltd. has been selected as one of the first members of the newly established Vietnam International Financial Centre (VIFC), a move positioning the company to potentially mobilize up to US$1 billion for real estate investments in Vietnam. The VIFC, formalized under National Assembly Resolution 222/2025/QH15, is designed to attract international capital with a dedicated legal framework, tax incentives, and streamlined dispute resolution.

This development marks a significant step for Vietnam in strengthening its ties to global markets and deepening its capital ecosystem. Keppel intends to leverage this framework by exploring the establishment of investment platforms to facilitate co-investments with global partners, primarily targeting third-party funds. The potential US$1 billion in capital deployment will be subject to market conditions, available investment opportunities, and participation from partners. Keppel’s existing strong presence in Vietnam, with over S$5 billion in registered capital across 30 projects, provides a solid foundation for this expansion.

The VIFC’s provisions, including those for foreign-currency transactions and tax incentives, are intended to ease cross-border investment. Keppel’s participation underscores its longstanding commitment to the Vietnamese market, a country the company views as having strong long-term growth potential. As a global asset manager with expertise in infrastructure, real estate, and connectivity, Keppel aims to work with local agencies and investors to develop the VIFC and attract international capital.

Keppel’s entry into the VIFC builds upon its four-decade history in Vietnam, where it has become a major foreign real estate investor. The company has consistently contributed to Vietnam’s urbanization through sustainable and high-quality development projects. The success of this venture will depend on Keppel’s ability to identify viable investment opportunities and secure participation from global partners in a dynamic market environment.
