Deutsche Bank's Q3 Profit Nears Record Despite Analyst Estimates
Deutsche Bank AG is poised to report a Q3 2026 pre-tax profit nearing record levels, according to analyst estimates, despite a projected decline in shareholder distribution compared to the prior year. The bank is expected to report approximately €2.4 billion in pre-tax profit, a figure only slightly below the record achieved in Q3 2025, which marked the highest pre-tax profit for a third quarter since at least 2007.
Analysts currently project that approximately €1.44 billion of the surplus will be allocated to Deutsche Bank shareholders. This anticipated distribution is lower than the amount distributed in Q3 2025. The strong performance is largely attributed to robust gains in securities and foreign exchange trading, as well as revenue generated from initial public offerings (IPOs).
Deutsche Bank previously reported a record full-year pre-tax profit of €9.7 billion in 2025, with a net surplus of €6.1 billion. The shareholder portion of the profit reached approximately €6.5 billion in 2007, representing the highest distribution in the bank’s history. The bank will publish the detailed Q3 results on Wednesday.
The anticipated, near-record Q3 profit signals continued momentum for Deutsche Bank, although the expectation of a lower shareholder distribution suggests a potential shift in capital allocation priorities or a moderation of earnings growth. While recent gains in trading and investment banking are driving performance, the slight dip in projected shareholder payout warrants further scrutiny as results are formally released.
