ASE Technology Invests NT$1.5 Billion in Manufacturing Expansion
ASE Technology Holding Co. is continuing to expand its manufacturing capacity, announcing two separate factory engineering contracts totaling NT$1,507,422,840. One project, awarded to Chung Yuan Machine Consultant Co., totals NT$1,112,332,840, while the other, awarded to Jiu Ho Engineering Co., is valued at NT$395,090,000. Both projects are slated for completion by late 2028 and will be used for production and operations.
The larger contract with Chung Yuan Machine Consultant, disclosed on October 12th, spans from October 6th, 2026, to December 31st, 2028. The contract with Jiu Ho Engineering, also disclosed on October 12th, commenced on September 15th, 2026. Both projects were approved at the general manager level, with no dissenting opinions from board members and are not considered related-party transactions.
These investments follow a series of similar announcements earlier in October, with ASE Technology subsidiaries previously announcing over NT$3.7 billion in combined investments for factory engineering and machinery purchases and SPIL announcing over NT$10.4 billion in factory engineering contracts. This sustained capital expenditure underscores ASE's commitment to bolstering its infrastructure and aligns with the broader trend of investment in the semiconductor sector, particularly in emerging markets like India, which is attracting significant foreign direct investment.
The timing of these investments coincides with increasing global demand for advanced manufacturing capacity and India's proactive efforts to establish itself as a semiconductor hub. While the filings do not detail specific production targets or anticipated returns on these investments, the continued expansion suggests ASE Technology is positioning itself to capitalize on growth opportunities within the global semiconductor supply chain.
Collectively, the company’s recent capital expenditures total NT$12.69 billion, a substantial investment driving capacity expansion. These investments are expected to support production and operations, but the specific impacts on revenue and profitability will be detailed in future reports.
